Sanaway Supports The Prostate Project’s Participation in Prestigious Madrid Urology Conference

Surrey-based professional washroom services company, Sanaway, kicked off a new initiative to support local charity, The Prostate Project, by sponsoring their attendance at the 40th Annual European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress held in Madrid (21-24 March 2025).

Co-founded by directors Patrick Martin and Surrey resident, Graham Key, Sanaway’s commitment to this local charity is deeply personal. Graham’s father-in-law tragically passed away from prostate cancer, a loss that fuels the company’s dedication to raising awareness and supporting early diagnosis. Graham says, “My father-in-law was too embarrassed to discuss his symptoms. Early detection could have led to less discomfort and possibly more time with us.

“Sanaway has chosen to support The Prostate Project because we feel it’s important to help break down the stigma that stops men discussing the risks and signs of prostate problems and gaining earlier diagnosis and treatment that could increase their chances of living a fuller and longer life.”

Based in Guildford, The Prostate Project supports the Royal Surrey County Hospital, the Cancer Centre, Frimley Park Hospital and the Oncology Research Group at the University of Surrey in their efforts to detect and treat prostate cancer by helping to provide equipment, specialist nursing staff, fund research and run an active patient support group.

The Prostate Project’s chairman, Martin Davies says: “We are delighted that Sanaway chose to sponsor our seat at the EAU congress. Our attendance at such events enables us to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in prostate cancer screening, diagnosis, treatments, and support, so we can better support those at risk and impacted by prostate cancer.”

“The support and donations which the charity receives helped to fund the establishment of the Stokes Centre for Urology at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. The Prostate Project continues to contribute to the Centre as a leading prostate cancer ‘Centre of Excellence’. Sponsorship partnerships help us maintain the contribution we make and keep spreading the word about the value of early diagnosis as a key to improved cure rates. All our work has one ultimate goal – to give men a better chance of beating prostate cancer.”
